Hi Tony,

Tuning boxes can be a good investment, as long as you dont buy a cheapo box off ebay. If you go for a brnad such as DTUK or similar, prices start at around £75 for their older generations, and most boxes vary from this to hundreds of pounds, it really depends how much power and what tech you want to get the most out of your motor.

I know many people over different cars who have used a tuning box and after finding the right setting, they never had issues with them, so they are not a bad thing!

Cheers fella. Not getting a cheap one as there's no point cutting corners. Just I know that the duratorq lump is a sensitive engine to play about with

What about the brand called tune it

The Duratorq engine is very receptive to tuning.

I prefer remaps myself but boxes are good as long as they're not just a project box full of resistors.

You definitely get what you pay for.

not heard of tune it to be honest, I was looking at the likes of DTUK as they had cheap but respectable boxes on ebay for around £80

I have heard very good things about DTUK

Yeah, on the Cee'd forum before I returned back to Ford, most the guys bought either DTUK or Drake and had nothing but excellent reviews for it!

Save up and get it mapped, the place were I got mine mapped is a dealer for dtuk and when asked which was better he simply said a map set up on a rr! I have no regrets, better mpg better torque and its defo faster!

Tunit have been around for over 15 years so they must be doing something right, but they are not the cheapest as a box for a mondy 130 is around £450.
