Why Is My Engine Different?

Looking at changing the oil stat so been searching a few how to's.

How come my engine looks different than the rest.

Mine has a large plastic piece that goes the full width of the engine, just above the dipstick on the picture.

    the mondeo had two types of engine the tddi and the later tdci, it looks like yours is a tddi.

    I thought the tddi was 115ps - mine is 130ps, plus it says tdci on the boot...

    Yours looks like a Euro3 engine. The other is Euro4.

    Yep, and it's vacuum-operated instead of electronic, so no worries about the EML.
