Mk6 Fiesta Central Locking Problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently had a problem with my 2004 fiesta zetec, more specifically the central locking (not remote). The central locking isnt working unless i turn and hold the key until the drivers side locks, however this doesnt lock the passenger side. Also there is a door open indicator light which is constantly on whilst im driving the car.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Danny

Have you tried spraying the trouble door latch with some wd40? It may just be dirty and so the car thinks the door is open, check fuses and try locking the door by pushing handle inwards.

Thanks, I'll try the WD40 in the morning. I've tried pushing the handles in from the inside but they just keep popping out, I'll check the fuses in the morning too!

Sounds like it's not closed properly then try the wd40 and work the handle a bit to loosen it up.

So I tried the wd40 and the fuses are fine, the central locking had started working again but only if I close the door really gently when I get in and out of the car!

Seeing as that has worked to some extend I would jam some grease in there maybe that's all it wants.
