Mk2 Ford Focus Whining Noise

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I would firstly like to say Hi, as i am now apart of the Ford Community.

I recently purchased my Mk2 55 plate Ford Focus 1.6 petrol off my friend and have driven it for several months now, however a noise has developed.

Best Description:

- Noise is a vibration/ whining and increases in noise level with increase in speed

- Noise i relative to speed/ load, i.e. with the clutch down there is no difference

- The noise only starts above 30mph

- The noise is worse when turning left; but does reduce when turning right (NOTE: I have replaced the nearside two wheel bearings and there have been no improvement)

Any help would be much appreciates or advise how I can solve this problem.

Many Thanks

Chan

Thanks for youre reply.

The funny thing is the two offside wheel bearings are fine by inspection and no movement whatsoever and spin very smoothly. The nearside front and rear are brand new one from kwikfit and the other from hafords who each it was the wheel bearings aswell but when replaced there was no improvement.
