Focus Mk1 Boot Wiring

Featured Replies

I have a 99-00 ford focus Ghia saloon. The remote locking isn't working nor is the button on the dash. I have checked the voltage on the boot lock and constantly getting 12v. The boot unlocks with the key but the electronic buttons (fob & dash button) will not release it. When pressing either nothing mechanical moves. How does anyone recommend checking that it is the boot lock/catch mechanism is working/not working. Does anyone have diagrams?

Thanks - Lewis

If you have 12V on PIN 1 of the boot lock then it should open.

You can check the CLU (under the A frame at the drivers side up above the visible bits after you remove the kick panel) pin 1/3 should go to 0v when you press the boot release.

You could also check the gnd on the boot motor (pin 3 should be hard to gnd)

Just upgrading my mk1 to remote locking which is why I am familiar with this wiring atm :D
