V-Power

Featured Replies

Is fuel like V-Super or Supermarket "Super Unleaded" petrol worth the increase in cost ?

Do you really see that much increase in MPG & does it really help the engine

I tried 3 tanks worth in my Zetec S a couple of years ago and it seemed to make about 1-2mpg difference, but this wasn't enough to justify the extra cost. Gave up after that and never gone back since! Don't know if the ST will make more use of it though?

I've never really used it before and always used supermarket basic unleaded. But with my ST2 I'm giving the v-power a go. Still a little early for me to comment but getting 37mpg on motorway and about 30 around town. I've only done just over 500 miles in total so far so will review again when I get to 2000 or so. Price difference is one factor £1.29 supermarket, £1.39-£1.43 v-power. Full tankful on v-power cost me £65 at £1.43 would have been about £58 at the supermarket. Really depends on how often you have to fill up I guess.

7 quid more - did you notice any performance improvement?

I always use v power or similar in my ST. I've heard it makes more of a difference in turbo cars than any others. I think it's worth the few quid extra for the added detergents you get in there that keep everything clean too. I prefer to just stick to using this and never feel the need to use any fuel injector cleaners etc

Never used anything else so can't comment on that. When I've done a couple of thousand miles or so I might give a tank of supermarket fuel a go and see if it does change the performance. Watch this space.
