Good News And Bad News!

Featured Replies

So the good news is my Wife and I are expecting our first baby! :D We're really excited!

The bad news is that this means I'm going to be putting the ST up for sale :(

My wife only has an auto licence and currently runs around in a little smart car. I cycle to work so the ST is sat in the garage most of the week so sadly it really doesn't make sense to keep it. Going to have to get something automatic and a little more practical! I've loved owning the car for the last two years and if I had my way I would keep it for many more!

Sorry to hear that about the car mate,

amazing how kids change things great to have em though I've got two daughters myself,

couldnt you get the missus a small auto car and keep your motor?

If not then I'm sure you'll have another ST or even an RS within 6yrs time, first year of baby is the hardest

I did suggest that but she's not convinced!

Congratulations mate, sad to hear that the ST is going to go, but as Lenny said, I'm sure you can get another one, so all hope is not lost.

But please don't be tempted to put one of those annoying baby on board stickers on the back of your new car! :p

Thanks Steve, I certainly won't be using one of those stickers!

Rest assured I've covered all options and she's not having any of it lol

We may go down to one car for the time being due to me cycling to work at the moment (really hard with this weather at the moment!)

Seems a little silly having a load of money in a car that's just sat in the garage all week. Been enjoying using it as a weekend toy lately though!

Congratulations James, sorry to hear about the car though :o

Congrats to you both in baby news and to you for being a good hubby lol

Congratulations to you both :)

Maybe the car will stay in the club and be well looked after..... Who Knows might even end up back in your garage :)

Sad to see your pride and joy going but definitely for a better cause.

Best wishes and congratulations to you and your wife.

Thanks guys much appreciated! :)

Congratulations on the little one, commiserations on the inevitable loss of sleep, draining of bank account and the sad loss of the ST!

All but one of those I experienced twice now :p

Honestly, being a parent is a great feeling, and equally stressful (don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise! :p) but its something I wouldn't change for the world.

As for the next motor, you do have some options I guess, get a Focus Titanium X 5 door auto and then do a remap and few mods- you get the power, she gets the auto! oh and if you need to drive it you can stick it into powershift mode and you have your manual back without the clutch.

I must say though, I do miss the clutch! all the pain it caused my knee, I still keep thinking I would get that pain back for the right manual motor!

Thanks James. Yes I do like having a proper manual but I guess it depends on the car. Some cars I find do suit an auto box and some don't!
