Battery Problems

Featured Replies

We bought a brand new Fiesta Style 1.25 82PS. Lovely comfy car but when it had been in our garage for 2 days it wouldn't start. AA called out and they said something was draining the battery so back it went to the dealership. They said no problem, just had to run it more which seemed a little silly. If the weather is bad and you don't go out for 3 days your car won't start. Th same thing happened on another 2 occasions. Back to the dealership for a week - nothing wrong. Has anyone else had the same problem?

I have a 1.4 petrol 2004 It came my way through family. I would often run it down her drive and bump start it (5 years ago). This car was not used very much. When it came my way I put a new battery on it and it was perfect..or was it. I use this car occoasionally and a few months later I had a flat battery. I had not thrown away the old battery it was in the shed. I charged it up and put it on placing the new one on charge. And that is the way I go. If the battery seems low which is only if it has not had a decent run for ages, I swap batteries. Just to give you a clue, I change the battery no more than once a year. I now take it for a run, 30 miles or so, once every 3 weeks and I have not changed it for a year or so. But the winter is not demanding. The battery is in use all the time with various sensors working, it needs a run preferably without lights and wipers or charge it.
