06 Focus Dcti Transmission Noise

Featured Replies

The problem relates to my son's Focus 2.0 dcti 06 model which has covered 108,000 miles. On start up there is an intermittent knocking which sounds as if it is coming from the clutch/transmission area. It goes away when moving forward but the drive feels as if there is a delay/lag between pressing the accelerator and the vehicle responding. When slowing on the over-run the knocking is present but more frequent and can also be felt through the clutch pedal.

I have googled the symptoms and it seems to point to the DMF, grateful for any advice forum members may provide.

if there is over run once changed gear and its not engaged straight away then the clutch is at fault . the knocking could be release bearing etc....... if the clutch is going you should replace the dmf also as standard practice..... for the labour and fitting these usually set you back around 500-600 notes
