Good Wax Polish

Featured Replies

I have read over and over again on wax polishers whats the easiest one to restore some color in my dull looking ford focus cheere

A wax and a polish are two very different products.

Are you looking for something that can be used by hand or by machine?

Wax wise, what colour is your car? Dodo juice panel pots are a great start and can be has for about 7 quid delivered ish

colour is dependand, if its dark, deep gloss by auto glym, or another of my fav's is super rein polish..... use a hand pad tho for better coverage.....

if its mega dull, then start by the 2 bucket method, clay bar, machine polisher with some fine compound and correct pads etc.... depends on how far you wana go..... a shiney car is mainly prep work and quality polishes, with things like gloss protection on after....

or just try meguires 3 stage set with pads n buffing cloths maybe 35 notes

I would always recommend super resin polish by autoglym, it's a easy to use product as gives great results. Doesn't last forever and will need reapplying once in a while. I would choose aqua wax also by autoglym that is another super easy product to use and lasts for ages. Hope that helps

Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app

I would never recommend using Autoglym SRP because it has one fatal flaw - it's full of fillers which make swirl marks and scratches disappear before your eyes. But give it 3 washes and they'll all be back.

I'd recommend the Scholl Concepts range of polish depending on the level of swirls followed by a good Caranuba Wax to protect your hard work by Raceglaze.

thanks for all the comments I was going to t cut the car then look for something to enrich the color and give it a bit of a shine I have no tools just cloths and elbow grease theirs a fair few scratches mostly light so was hopeing to take most of the scratches away then try to get a good shine and can someone please advise me on my bumper there are quite a few stone chip marks that have taken the paint down to small white patches makes the back of the car look not so good would using touch up paint do the job limited funds so any suggestions would be welcomed many thanks

T Cut is extremely abrasive so be very careful with it.

Touch up paint will be fine as long as you layer it up a bit of a time, it will never be perfect but it will take your eyes away from the chips.

If you have lots of little scratches and marks my weapon of choice by hand is Gtechniq P1 and a tri foam applicator. You can pick up both delivered for a it 12-15 quid. A 100ml bottle of P1 will last ages. It will achieve very good results but if you have T Cut and want to use it then just it sparingly and with a finishing pad as it will get thorough the clear coat in no time.

Also the best piece of advice I can give you is be realistic as to what is achievable, I have seen lots of people post results on different forums and make it look very easy whereas in reality it isn't and a certain degree of experience is needed along with the right tools.
