Mk7 Fuel Flap

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

For some weird reason my Fuel Flap is missing.

It's the actual painted cover that seems to have fallen off/been stolen...

I can't find a part number for it anywhere or even somewhere to buy one?

Can someone give me a head's up?

Its a MK7(59 plate)

Would this one fit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350986423357&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

Thanks

Hi Liam,

The link you have posted for the car, will not fit a mk7.

Your best bet will be a scrap yard or a ford dealer.

Hope this helps?

Cheers

That part won't fit. Assuming your 'hinge' is still intact and you just want the painted piece the part number should be 1721979 and will be around £16.40 from Ford (unpainted)

If you want used try somewhere like http://www.partsgateway.co.uk/ which emails a lot of different breakers asking for quotes.

Does it matter if it is easy-fuel or not?

All MK7's are.

How do i get it for approx that price?

Ford deal wanted around £50 including vat?

Worse case i was thinking would this do?

Take a copy of the image iNAth posted and ask why they want £50 for a £16 part? Unless they were quoting for it painted as well?

Nathan, Would you be able to buy/post one if I paypal'ed you the money or recommend if this one would fit:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FIESTA-FUEL-FILLER-FLAP-RED-93FG-B405A02-/380558543453?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item589b0e8a5d

As i have been quoted £38 + VAT from 2 ford dealers within Glasgow.

Nathan how can i get them to give me it for that price? Seems to be showing n there system for £38 min :(

Was in Ford in Linwood today and they said i may need a whole new housing as that parts been suppressed on there system..

Liam I'm only using a parts catalogue I downloaded so I can't sell you anything I'm afraid. At those prices I'd use Parts Gateway or contact local breakers for a used part.

Hey guys,

I am back again! Can anyone recommend a place to get the part and if I will need the CAP on its own or the housing as well?

I have uploaded pictures to show the damage.

Hopefully someone can advise as i need to get a price to give my insurance company so they can authorize me to get it repaired.

I am based in Glasgow so any recommended places would also be good!

And how much would it cost a garage for labour? including spraying the part if needed? And if its just the cap or the housing... Even part numbers for both would be great!

Thanks Guys,

The flap comes seperate from Ford and in primed condition so painting would be needed.

Part (Finis) code is 1788187 and approx £40 inc VAT.

The housing itself is Finis 1783014 and is approx £35 inc VAT.

Its this part just got it out, does this and the circle panel come VA's one part if yea what part numbers ?

post-37300-0-99998200-1395451992_thumb.j

The bit you show above comes as one unit only as per my picture, basically for that bit you need the whole part 1783014.

The circular flap is seperate.

Ford don't sell the whole lot as one piece.
