Sorry for sounding desperate but this is annoying the life out of me ! black fuel stain apearing soon after washing car only on the back wheel arch below fuel cap !!!!! any ideas as to what it could be ????

all help greatly apreciated . Thanks in advance .

    I'm assuming you mean a puddle of something on the floor, not a stain appearing in the wheel arch itself?

    First, are you sure it's fuel, and not something leaking out of the shock absorber, or the brake caliper?

    Assuming that it is fuel, then I'd ask if it only happens when the tank is full. If so, that points to the filler neck being at fault. If not, the tank itself may be perforated (which would really surprise me on a 2008 car, but still...)

    Hi thaks for your reply , no puddle its just a black stain thats keeps appearing around the wheel arch and its very hard to remove ! I had the car checked by Arnold clark because it has a full 2year parts and labour warranty but they said it was fine ?
