1.6 Tdci Turbo Oil Feed/return Pipes Removal

Featured Replies

In the middle of taking off my blown turbo (surprise, surprise), actually its the second time in 2k. The first time the local garage put a recon one on but did not find out the cause for the failure. Of course now its happened again (no warranty with the turbo), and after trauling the internet I have come across things that should be done prior to a replacement turbo being fitted.

So my plan is to take off the turbo and send it off to get reconditioned and to take off the oil feeds and replace them. Will also drop the sump and clean.

I can't seem to find out how to get to the lower pipe connections (on the cylinder block). I am following the haynes manual but they just say to undo them at a certain point, but I can't seem to see them. Does the cat have to come off, there is no mention to do this in the manual?

Thanks, just didn't want to take off anything unnecessarily, burt just can't see where the bottom of the 2 pipes are!
