Stupid Taxi Driver!

Featured Replies

I was driving home down the motorway yesterday which was actually flowing well compared to most days when it's normally stop/start. Doing 70mph in the middle lane, catching a taxi up who was doing about 60. I signal right, pull out and start gaining on him keeping an eye out just in case he pulls across in front of me. He had no need to as the car ahead of him was a long way off. Anyway, he pulls across at the last moment so I end up quite close to him and have to brake. He then proceeds to stay at 60 holding me up forever, so we take ages to get past anyone who's in the middle lane. There's basically nothing ahead of him, leading me to believe he's doing it on purpose just to hold me up.

Anyway, I eventually get to within half a mile of my exit (after covering around 5 miles stuck behind this idiot) so I pull into the middle lane as it's now empty. As I do this he suddenly speeds up, so I do too and before you know it I'm doing 70 in the middle lane and he's staying one cars length ahead of me in the right lane. No doubt he sped up because he thought I was going to undertake him. I then go into the left lane, he stays in the right (while the middle is empty) slowing down again and holding up everyone behind him.

Really, what's the point? Intentionally driving like an idiot just to annoy other people? I couldn't see what company it was from so as a partial name and shame the plate was S21 SWD. And guess what, it was a Vauxhall!

Reminds me of the Civic driver I posted about here last week. Some people really need to go and get laid, or something. They have WAY too much time on their hands.

(it wasn't a taxi - just some idiot in his dad's/mum's/probation officer's car)

Lane hogging is an offence.

Report the reg to your local Force.

Curious, what is the punishment or how is it handled? I understand it's ones word against another unless evidence is provided so how is it handled either way?

I best get a cam sorted then! Have had enough of people moving out in front of me, they seem to think 'He's going a bit quick, lets slow him down because he must be speeding.' When they are doing 50mph anything coming up in the mirror is going to look rapid! Can I trade my points for the pleasure Stoney? ;)

Just tried a google search but cant seem to track the number down. If you call around your local taxi offices and give them the number plate, give them a shout as well as the local force and let them discipline as well as the local force
