Wingmirror Pushed Back

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. Came back to my car to find someone had clipped my driver side wing mirror. It hadn't come off, it was just pushed backwards.

When I pulled the mirror back to its normal position it no longer fits flush with the car. The mirror glass is now also touching the inside of the mirror frame. I've attatched a couple of photos to show you what I mean, bit hard to explain.

Does any one know what to do? Or at least have a link to some information on how to remove and re-seat the glass? The only thing I can see in the owners manual is how to change the bulb in the indicator light. I've taken the mirror cover off and tried fitting it back on flush but its not having it.

Its a 2012 mk3 focus with heated wing mirrors, if that makes any difference. The mirror still heats up and moves around, but its always rubbing up against the frame now.

Cheers.

if the glass has just been moves then all you do is put the electric mirror switch all the way to the right or away from the driver when it reaches its maximum a gentle push on the glass on the edge till it stops will reset it now you can adjust the mirrors and all is well

youre glass may be broken at the rear cant tell from that picture
