I've seen alot of people mention clay bar.

Is it any good and how do you use it?

I'm thinking about getting some if it's really good.

Ye brilliant it of kit. Picks up lots of little bits of grim that a normal wash would miss.

its like a paint detox, removing all kinds of debris, tar, tree sap etc.... then leaves your paint work like a glass/slippery finish very very smooth to the toutch.... !Removed! brilliant bit of kit. and a good start to the detailing of your car....

Is it easy to use? Would it be an all day process to do the whole car properly? Bearing in mind it would be the 1st time my car has had it.

then i moved onto the actual clay bar and its seperate lubricant.

Its very easy to use. This how I do it. Wash the car and rinse off. Mould a piece of clay into the size of a 50p piece then spray a panel with lubricant, I use Meguiars quick detailer and rub the clay over the bodywork. I do it in straight lines but others may do it another way. If the clay gets dirty fold it over until you have a clean surface. Once I have done all the car including the windows I rinse the car off again. The bodywork should now be glass smooth ready for paint correction, sealant and wax. It can take a whole day for me to do my Focus if I'm doing wash, rinse, clay, rinse, paint correction, polish and wax. The first time you do it you will be amazed at how much muck comes off your paintwork.
