Refitting Interior Door Handle Mk5 Fiesta (1St Time Post)

Featured Replies

I have had to remove an interior rear door panel on my 2001 Fiesta. The cable attached to the handle has droped out of the hole it sits in and every time I put it back it simply falls out again. Every thing looks ok. Nothing broken and it was working fine before I removed the panel.

Any ideas how I can refit it?

Is there some thing I am missing? Maybe there is a specific way of reassembling it?

if you can upload any pictures I might be able to help, I don't have the most visual mind sorry lol

get some pictures up and I'll try :)

Thanks for your reply. This is what I mean. The cylinder at the end of the cable I can get back into the hole on the handle but when you pull the handle it simply falls out of the bottom. I can see any way of keeping it in the hole.

It should fit (up) into this slot but as you can see it will simply drop off the green plastic thingy you can see in the picture.

ohhh so the cable has come out of the handle and when the handle is pulled it just falls. got ya.

I'd guess that the piece that would of held it in place has snapped off. if thats the case then if you can find then piece, place the cable back in and glue the snapped bit off plastic back on.

other than that I'd say place the cable back in and place a piece of plastic/metal to stop it falling out then glue or tape it on.

hope that helps, or if I'm just rambling hopefully somebody else will be able to help haha

Think I might have it. Might have to move the handle down the metal bar?

Will try that though if I cant move the handle.

The part of plastic that looks like it may be missing looks intentional. It's not snaped it's a clean cut? Only one way to find out. lol
