Ford Focus Reversing Camera

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I have a ford focus titanium x estate 2012 plate

The reversing camera obviously comes on when car is in reverse or impress the reverse sensor button under climate control buttons.

The question I have is that sometimes (very rare) when in reverse the camera does not come on but a park pilot (shows boxes around the car which change colour depending how close you are to obstacles) comes on instead. I was just wondering why or if there is an option to select between the two. Or why does this happen?

Dan

There should be an option to switch between these but unfortunately I dont know about it.

Have you had a look in the manual?

Thanks for reply

Yeah I did have a look but couldn't find anything

The park pilot that comes up instead of the camera is called the same as when you put the park pilot guidance lines on when on the reverse camera. That's the only thing that is in the manual, is about putting the guidance lines on when reverse camera is on.

Dan

if you disable the guidelines, does this enable the camera?

The camera always comes in when car is in reverse. The question I had was to turn the camera off and the park pilot on to use instead of camera

Mine has done it once, just the car getting its knickers in a twist I think. My local garage said if it keeps doing it they'll take a look, but mine hasn't done it since.

You will still be under warranty so could always take it to a dealer. Might just need a simple software update, that seems to fix a lot of things on cars these days.

I don't mind it that's the problem I just want to know how to switch between the two. It must be an option to use instead of camera or it would appear. I do t think it's a problem with the car
