2002 1.8 Tdi. Sucking / Whistling Sound When Accelerating

Hi Guys

I hope this is not to serious a problem, but recently my Mums focus has been making a sucking / whisltling sound when you accelerate. Sorry I really don't know how to describe the sound.

My initial thoughts were a seal on the Turbo or pipes leading to the tubo causing this sound but I am a bit lost how I would check as find out what is causing this sound.

Any help would be great. I hope someone has experianced this before and may know the kind of sound I am talking about.
