Insurance Question....

Featured Replies

Do I continue modding my 1.8 zetec or do I sell and get an st170? Which do you think would be cheaper to insure bearing in mind that I was thinking of doing the exhaust, remap etc on my zetec?

Hiya rick just a quick comment ive just bought an st170 im 37. And have 1 years no claims mine is fully comp for £ 550. Bit more than expected but with only 1 year n.c.b cant reall complain. After getting quoted £1200 nearly from adrian flux.

That's actually much less than I'm paying now for my zetec lol paying about 850 with 3 years no claims and I'm now 31.

The thing is I'm not sure if its worth continuing to mod it now that I've done all the small stuff really, or bite the bullet and still it for an st

Ive got to say I very happy with mine rick great to drive and handling is great to. Have been looking at the bluefin but apparently it only adds about 8bhp but suppost to improve other things. If im honest I still need to look into it a bit more think its about £200 any information would be appreciated. Gary

Yeah not too sure on that I'm afraid but there's plenty of info on here if you can find it I'm sure. How much did you pay for your st if you don't mind me asking? What kind of condition is it in/mileage does it have?

Hiya I paid £1650 full ford service history 80.000miles the condition is amazing for its age. Had timing belt etc. Lots of receipts worth about £3500 spent on it its had all the st faults done. Been well looked after omly had 2 owners. ive also benn intouch with previous owner to confirm all was genuine. He was more than happy to chat about the car.

Sounds a decent price for age/mileage, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for, will have to have a serious think about it in a couple of months when my insurance is up
