Bluefin For 1.25 Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Looking at getting bluefin for my car gives it another 6BHP and 10NM talk.

Would I notice this and would the top speed increase?

to be honest, the cost of it (if its a petrol as well) you probably wont notice it. to get 6bhp from a naturally aspirated petrol is a tall order, but it depends also on how well the car is serviced. If the car is in average maintenance for example, you might notice only 2 or 3 bhp (I say notice in the loosest possible way!) even if the car is in top condition throughout the engine, you still wont really feel 6bhp on its own. You would need to do more to it to really feel the difference, such as an uprated air filter and exhaust, the combination of all three, would result in you feeling more in the car, but otherwise, you wont really feel much at all!

IMHO, naturally aspirated cars should stay stock when it comes to BHP - not because I dont agree with them, but the cost of £Pounds per Horse Power is ludicrously high in comparison to other mods.

for example, a K&N Filter - £10 can get you one or two horses more - so maybe £2 per horse, a straight through exhaust could get you 5-10bhp more - perhaps £10 per horse, whereas a remap can cost you several hundred pounds for up to 6bhp - resulting in a bill of up to £40 per horse.

Couldn't agree with you more Jeebo, tempted to get my diesel done which will add around 25horses pushing me along the road..

But for petrol engines the cost really outweighs the gain!

If you do make any mods, I'd be sure to check whether other components can take the extra power, mate of mine tuned his car up and needed a whole new gearbox after a while as it could only take so much power!
