Ford Fiesta Durashift Transmission Problems - Advice Required

Featured Replies

My other halfs Ford Fiesta durashift 03 with 50k has started playing up and will occasionally either get stuck in gear or judder to a standstill. The transmission warning light also appears so I'm guessing it's the dreaded actuator fault? I've tried taking it to some local garages but nobody will touch it as they said they don't have the knowledge or the right equipment. I've approached Ford but they want £80+ just to run diagnostics and have quoted around £1000 just for a new actuator (not fitted).

Does anybody have any suggestions about where I may be able to get it repaired for a sensible price? I'm in Sutton in Ashfield, Notts.

I'm thinking about selling it on (fiestas with similar problems go for around £5-600) but my other half wants to keep it if at all possible.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Keith.

P.S. I'm clueless about car repairs so it's not something I could tackle myself.
