Sat Nav And Heaters Just Stopped Working

Featured Replies

as above just driving and it just went off, checked the fuse all ok? any ideas please

cheers

lee

Anything else not working? I presume by heaters you mean the blower? Is the Sat Nav built into the radio, and if so does the radio work? Only common thing I can think is that both are ignition key controlled, so would be useful to know if other ignition controlled things work

Hi its the built in sat nav with the dual climate control, all lights on buttons not on screen not on and i think the blowers are not working because it says on the touch screen what level etc they are on all other things work, removed fuse checked it all ok put back in you can hear the discs in the changer etc but still nothing

I have the same unit in my focus could just be a bad connection

The heater control is a small module bolted to the bottom of the unit that could be playing up

Just one question for you ?

Did you also own a puma before your streetka ?

  • Author

Hi whats the best way of checking all the above?

yes i have owned a puma about 9 years ago?

Best way is to remove the unit and check the connections

This may be wrong but i think i know you :)

Did you get some racing puma seats for your puma when you had it ??

  • Author

no sorry only had the puma 1 and half months lol

Im wrong lol

Its just strange i knew someone called lee who had a puma and then a StreetKa that i got parts for as i work at a ford dealership :)

Anyway as i said before remove the unit and check the connectors also you unit as a fuse in the back so check that too

cheers for the advise been reading about it may need an update to 5.1 or 5.3 but looking at when others have had simular faults theirs have all still been on to remove the dvd, but mine is dead

if it does it will need to go to a dealer?

Is there any other problems with the car or is it just the radio and climate ?

  • Author

i have only owned it for 2 weeks so far this is the only thing

if it does it will need to go to a dealer?

Not much us dealers can do if its a dead unit only get a exchange unit that's if you want to pay £700

i have only owned it for 2 weeks so far this is the only thing

Was it a private sale or did you get it from a garage ? as if its from a garage you have rights and they will have to sort it :)
  • Author

but thats it how will i know if its the unit? if there is power there? what about that update?

  • Author

it was a garage but they only gave me 3 months warranty on the engine and gearbox

You could do with someone close to you that has the same unit as you, then you could swap them over just to be 100% sure the headunit is ok

  • Author

ok cheers will update 2moz need this sorted asap just need the heaters working

This is weird got in the car this morning and its working again but i had to put the code in?

Ye it sounds like a loose connection. Radio code is needed when power is lost.

  • Author

this morning i had to put the code in again but all day yesterday it worked fine just in the morning
