Trying To Find Replacement Engine For An Studio Eco 1.6 Diesel Focus

Featured Replies

Hi All

Looking for a replacement engine for our car and an engine supplier has just thrown a spanner in the works.

The Car in Question is a Ford Focus 2008 Studio 1.6 Diesel Eco, £30 a year tax.

It was replaced with a 2009 G8DB engine by the garage we bought it from. We were always led to believe that the original engine was a 2008 G8DA. But I have received a phone call from an engine dealer telling me it shouldn't be a G8DA/B, it should actually be a CCDB

I have searched CCDB and everywhere is bringing up that it is for a Ford Focus 1.6 Diesel Studio Eco Car.

Does anyone know how I can find out of a G8DA and G8DB are eco engines, as a CCDB does appear to be.

I thought this would be a really straight forward job, but clearly it isn't. And firstly did the garage who replaced the engine put the wrong engine in it, and secondly, is the car now not an eco £30 tax car?

Thanks

HM
