Query With Possible New Car

Featured Replies

Morning Chaps,

I was wondering if someone out there may be able to help me out with a question I have with a car i have found listed on autotrader and the spec of it.

Here's the link http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201402071614544/sort/default/usedcars/price-from/10000/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/price-to/13000/transmission/manual/radius/200/postcode/gu212ub/maximum-age/up_to_3_years_old/model/focus/keywords/EcoBoost/body-type/hatchback/engine-size-cars/1-4l_to_1-6l/fuel-type/petrol/page/4/make/ford?logcode=p

Basically, it is my understanding that Titanium and Titanium X models have a Sony DAB unit as standard but looking at the photo of the dash it appears to be the regular Zetec version. Would that also mean that the 9 speaker setup is also not present?

Thank you in advance for an help.

Cheers,

Neil

It may be because it is an early Focus, that they weren't putting the Sony units in as standard at that point.

If you can find an old 2011MY Focus brochure that would confirm it.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Excuse my possibly stupid question but what does 2011MY mean please?

Cheers,

neil

MY means model year, manufacturer's often make subtle changes to the features/options each year.

My car for example is a 2012.75MY the last ones built without SYNC. It may be that the first 2011 models to roll out the factory did not have Sony DAB radios and it was add later, like SYNC was added from the 2013MY.

If you go to the dealer website, it shows the licence number as EF11 SRU.

Go to

http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do

and enter this reg number and it will tell you the build details (which contradicts the dealer details)

From Etis:

  • Less Upgraded Sound System
  • With 6 Speakers
  • Less Radio Subwoofer

Thank you both for the info and mgaking that is a smart website to know - thank you for brining it to my attention.

I may then give this car a miss as I do enjoy decent sound quality.

Thanks again.

Neil

This is from mine, so you know what sort of thing to look for on Etis, to confirm it definitely has the Sony DAB radio:

  • ICE-Mid Audio Branded + DAB
  • Less Upgraded Sound System
  • With 9 Radio Speakers
  • Less Radio Subwoofer

The important bits are "Branded" (i.e. Sony) and 9 speakers.

I'll keep an eye out for these options while looking.

Cheers,

Neil
