Revving Up!

Featured Replies

So...i have a fiesta zetec s, its a diesel 1.6 59plate, i normally drove to work this morning takes about 10 minutes stopped the car still no problems but as soon as i put it into neutral and took my feet off the pedals it reved up continuously and didnt stop, so i turned the engine straight off, left it a minute turned it back on an it was fine! Very strange anyone had something like this before? Thanks charlotte

Did the engine red line and stayed there before you turned it off?

And your pedals were mot stuck under the foot mat? How much miles on the car but? Is this the first time it's happened?

Turbo or injector probably

More likely to be an accelerator pedal sensor than a turbo or injector. Has it done it again since?

Sounds like there is some kind of oil leak somewhere. Can't be sure though but what I suggest is to have a look under the engine cover for any obvious oil or diesel leaks
