Dpf Regen

Featured Replies

1.6TDCi Sport (end of manufacturing line Focus 2008's).

Just wondering if I've caught my car doing a regen cycle...?

I rolled up at home and thought "is my exhaust broken?" because there was a distinct rumble sound from the exhaust that sounded like I had an exhaust system on my car! Got out and found the cooling fan to be spinning, opened the bonnet and the DPF/cat was crackling like mad as it cooled down, and there was a lot of heat that was coming from the engine bay too.

All of this to me points towards a regen cycle, can someone kindly confirm? :) If it was attempting a regen then I'll have to take it for a blast up and down the motorway.

It's odd because I'm mainly on an A road going to and fro work (12 miles round trip).
