sorry about the miss spelling lol

anyway, ive spent all day on the net and ringing people about this when i shoud have been working lol, i have a set of small offset alloys and put ebaich hubcentric 15mm spacers on the rears and they are perfect i now want to put 5mm spacers on the front, i tried ebiach hubcentric ones and they dont tighten up with my alloys on as the orignal studs get in the way when i try and tighten up onto the studs on the spacer, so i have ordered a set of 4x108 only spacers but they arnt hubcentric they have the correct bore size for the hub but will take up 5mm of the stud length, now heres the question, can i use the orignal studs on the car or do i need longer ones to use them? ive phones 4 ford garages 2 have said anything 5mm and under will be fine when torqued up, but 1 said never unless i use longer studs and the other said anything up to 10mm would be fine on the orginal stud length? what do you guys think?

I personally wouldn't risk fitting spacers and using the original studs. They go on so many turns for a reason.

I wouldn't risk it, but it's down to you to make that decision mate. What if (worst case scenario) a wheel came off and caused an accident ? You could end up in the same situation as the other member on here, or even worse..... Like I said, if it was me, i'd get bigger studs to at least know that I'd made it as safe as possible.

Yh fair enough i just read his thread not good :/ and yh ill look at some longer studs how hard is it to change the studs?

For the sake of 5mm I would say it will be fine. This is only from personal experiance.

My Mk2 Escort has 15mm spacers all round and is driven hard. No problems.

Is that with standard studs tho?

Its only 5mm should be fine,

However a wider track will decrease your turning lock,

So if driving to work some day and you forget your lunch,

You may have to turn, reverse a bit then turn again, to perform a U turn because the full lock on the steering isint as sharp as it used to be lol

Found this when i fitted focus ST 18x8 and 3mm steering lock limiter kit.

Perhaps i should start using the handbrake aswell as steering to bring her around lol
