The Ford Badge

Featured Replies

Is it time for Ford to modernise the oval badge and bring it into the 21st century. .have other manufacturers done this successfully?

It used to be a paler blue, see they do change it :p

It's also got much bigger at the front of the car - all manufacturers seem to have done that.

I think Skoda have done a good job with theirs, the new monochrome one looks much better

Didn't know that..Mazda also did a good job.

I think its the actual font on "Ford" word that makes it look old fashioned. Its been the same since 1912!

I don't think it should change, in fact I'd probably be upset if they did change it. You see it and instantly recognise it.

It's supposed to be Henry Ford's signature.

It has far more significance than other car maker's logos tbh.

You say you instantly recognise it.

A couple of years back I was stopped by the police at night. (back when you had to produce your documents at local station)

They shined a torch on the badge but some how on my producer they had Vauxhall corsa. Lol.

Most other manufacturers just sharpen up the logo, or enlarge it. Skoda for example seem to have done this recently!

Otherwise though, they generally dont tend to change it much at all (the brand that shall not be named) also did this with their gryffin as well if I recall, they just tarted it up a bit!

My point exactly, ford are bringing out some lovely cutting edge designs, with badges that are unchanged from 2003. Def a need to crisp it up..ie Citroen etc

'Fords are the only cars with the founders signature on every one' (except the stangs) which I think is actually really nice.

It's been decades now lol they won't change the blue oval :p

Citroën shocked me with the ds3 logo! I know what you mean though, they could just tweak it so the signature is there, but looks a bit more fresh. Even something such as more contrast between blue and silver and more definition could really make it suit the modern cars they are producing.

This is my shoddy effort at how the badge could look by having just the letter "F". If the brand is big enough, people will know what it is without seeing the full name I.e Nike.

Good effort there Bill, with a bit more chrome effect and maybe a 3d effect I think something like that would be a nice update!

Cheers Jeebo, Tony eat your Hart out lol.

Yip a bit more chrome emphasising the F and it's a 21st century logo for hi tech cars.

Hahah doesn't have a Ford badge on it at all but everyone knows what it is

I think a single F would be a bad move - too close to the grade F...which isn't very good at all and could imply Ford is a Fail

Very valid point there Becca! the Mustang is the exception, perhaps Henry would not have approved?

who can remember the old fiat badge....

......not a fan of fiat but their badge changed Big Time...

4x4 panda was interesting tho, see youtube....
