1999 Fiesta Zetec 2.25 Fuel Problem?

Featured Replies

hi all just bought a 1999 fiesta zetec 1.25 went for a run and after 50 miles stopped for an hour. when i went back to the car she ran for 100yards and the engine just died, left it for 10 mins and engine started no problem but conked out after another 100 yards and so on, i checked air filter and found it to be clogged up so removed it and car started and got me home, but the other day the problem returned and is getting worse car wont start at all it feels as if the engine is being starved of fuel. does anyone know what problem could be thanks

jim

Hi Jim,

I think the best place to start would be the fuel filter. Its a relatively cheap fix in comparison as a starting point, but if the air filter was that gunked up, I have little doubt that the fuel filter will look worse!
