Kayti
Hi guys. In the mornings my brakes do a high pitched squeak when braking. Its really annoying and does anyone else have this problem? Ive taken into ford they have changed brake pads, still squeaked so took back and they apparantly 'greased' or oiled them, also when turning i head a crunching noise which ford said nothing can be done they apparantly 'greased' some joint but it stil does it. 2010 zetec model... !Removed! cars!!!!! ben1191
is it only in the morning?cold breaks tend to squeak. Depends on the severity of the sound i guess Youre more than welcome to try a French motor, youll be back here faster than they can rob you blind :)
Kayti
I think its mostly when I first use the car? I'll have to keep a listen out. Which means turning the music off lol
MattDRX
Never had any brakes o my car squeal in the morning, generally it's worn discs / pads or grit in between the pads and discs. Do your discs have a lip on them at all? Changing the pads only remedies so much. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Ford OC mobile app
FOCA
The crunching noise is the CV (constant velocity) joint, it can be worse the more steering lock (the more you turn the steering wheel) greasing it is unlikely to help because it is probably worn now and so if so will need replaced If you "boot" it out of junctions with steering lock on it puts more stress on the CV joint(s) than if the steering is kept straight, this is especially true for powerful or modified FWD (front wheel drive) cars where it is often a good idea to have the wheels straight before you "boot" it Turning the steering wheel when stationary is the other no-no
