frund
Decided to fit one to the wifes 2008 1.6 tdci mk6 old shape anyway. So so easy. Disconnect hoses to air cleaner etc and completely remove top plastics this is only pushed on with 4 locaters into rubbers. A sharp pull up may be needed. Lift up black plastic reservoir on right hand side of engine and tie up to passenger side wiper arm this res is not heavy. Notice locating clip. Remove reservoir bracket, 3 screws. Now you have a clear view of the EGR. Loosen the 2 fixing pins about 2 turns also loosen the metal bracket holding the pipe on the left side of the engine running to the EGR. Small socket set with short bar and ratchet. The valve is now loose and the new blanking plate can be slid into place. I slid mine inbetween the original metal gasket and the engine body. Tighten evenly and replace all in reverse order. This job will take you 30 mins or so. No warning lights will come on.
