Burning Smell After High Speed?

Featured Replies

Every time I drive to my aunties house after I stop the car there's seems to be a strong burning smell. It's a very good road and always get up to a fair speed. Is this anything to be worried about or just normal after high revs

How new is the car? How much are you using the brakes? is the DPF regenerating during the faster higher revs?

many questions I know, but can you give a bit more info about the driving style?

Car is a 60 plate, pretty much not using the brakes atall. Unsure what you mean by the DPF?

See if you can pinpoint it - is it the brakes, the clutch, the exhaust, etc or even the tyres?

Personally, if i can't smell burning after a hard run, i feel i was not trying hard enough!

DPF = Diesel Particulate Filter... If you have one that is!
