So after about 6 weeks of looking for a focus, I finally decided and got a silver 2010 1.6 zetec, full service history one owner and it's in great nick.

Some things I'm looking to do and would like advice on.

Main Interior light - Looking something bright, as the current one isn't great. Colour I'm looking is white.

Footwell lights - bought a couple of cheap 501s to ensure I had the bulb and it worked. Can anyone recommend a white light that gives a good spread of the footwell.

Number plate lights - I want something brighter than standard, but looks natural, not like the ones that seem too bright on cars.

Also is it difficult to change the reverse light? Looking at the forum people seem to like those cree bulbs for these.

I've already purchased osram cool blue intense side and dipped bulbs for it, just waiting on them to arrive.

Also I've noticed my indicator ticking noise is very faint, good when your driving at low speeds, but on motorways, you can't hear it at all. Is this normal?

The indicator ticking is very quiet on the Focus, mind you its better than the BMW which is totally silent.

Cheers Lenny, I read your build thread a couple of weeks ago, real quality, but just a little too much for me. I'm just looking a subtle changes inside and out, although would love the drls that is in your build thread.

Any one any suggestions on the other bulbs?

Or do I need canbus bulbs for the inside? I realise they will not do the number plate.

They should do nicely. The CANBUS doesnt operate on the interior lighting network so wont throw any issues.

2nd issue is when the fuel light first comes it only makes a faint noise, then doesn't make another noise after this. My previous car and other fords I've noticed, every time you restart the car you will hear the beep again for the low fuel warning. Should this happen or is mines normal?

1st: It does stay on for a while, can't say I've timed it though.

2nd: The little "bong" noise? Nope...can't say I've noticed it do it more than once...although, to be honest I tend not to let it get that low (easier to fill 'er up when I'm in the vicinity of a petrol station rather than making a special trip out)

it beeps again when the counter goes to zero miles to empty

My focus makes a noise when you hit 50 miles left then again at 25 miles.

I made the video above on the way home from work this morning,

I got to the fuel station on 0km remaining.

Thought id video to show the second beep occouring

I also switched off the ESP to aid coasting momentum

I would of been too scared to run it down to zero in case it went before I got to the petrol station. Lol

well it happend me once, there were no stations around so i got brave since then lol

You can run a petrol to empty and put some in, then it goes,

But if diesel runs dry then you gotta bleed the fuel rail free of air i dont buy diesel from anywhere except Topaz so i passed five fuel stations on 0km this morning :) no offence to those five suppliers

Lenny I also noticed your car beeps when going through the menu and pressing the button on the stalk, how was this enabled as mines doesn't do this.

Some settings such as indicator flash rate and low fuel warning liggt aswell as speed limit warning via the use of a modified ELM327 and the software from the guide section,

You can also activate stereo display and caller I.D for bluetooth,

I activated the beep via the settings menu
