That's very nasty. I'd just forfeit my no claims and get them to pay for it. It'll be very near 2k as I bet that's pulled the inner wing as well. You insurance won't go up by that over the next few years.

2 grand!?!?!

Anyone else got a comment?

Door skin, rear wing and sill. Parts, labour and paint. Could be more than you think. I would certainly get a few cash estimates before deciding what to do.

As Matt says it's bound to be more than your NCB and excess costs.

I agree it will be very expensive to fix that I was quoted 450 to fix a key mark on my old golf so Matt may be about right could be more though

Yes they have to chop that sill and weld a new one in. Lot of work to put that right.

Absolutely gutted! I'll get some quotes.

I've seen someone have very similar damage to what you have and had it repaired for £1000 try finding someone local who is a professional in bodywork, that's what my mate did.. Don't bother going to ford as they will charge upwards of £2000

Additionally, if you're not 100% keen on the car anyway, leave the door and get the rest sorted and then do the door when you come to sell it! Plus, if you're in car parks a lot it's just going to get pounded anyway.. That's if you're on the money saving route :D

If this comes to £2000 and I claim on my insurance (i'm only 22 and paying about £700 insurance fully comp) will the insurance then jump up to like £2000 a year? I am so gutted about this!

It happens chalk it up and move on!

Some guy run into the side of mine (had the entire rear panel cut out and a new one welded on) very expensive job.. If it hadn't have gone through the paint I'd have probably just lived with it for a while

Get a 2nd hand door and get it painted, and that sill and rear 1/4 will repair! Bodyshops use a spot welder to weld pins on and then use a slide hammer to pull it out! It will probably want the full side painting with it being silver. Hope this helps ya!
