Hi all. Im a newbie to this site so apologies if I am posting questions in the wrong place. I have recently purchased a 62 plate race red fiesta zetec. Absolutely love it. I am concerned about paint fading . The dealer assured me that the quality of red paint is much improved these days. I did not take up his offer of buying diamond brite as it was very overpriced. My car willl be parked outdoors at all times with very little shade. What would you advise to reduce the likelihood of fading? Is fading red a big a problem as it used to be?

I'm sure the days of red fading are over , they probably have changed the paint properties etc. I'm certainly not worried about min.

It's only VX reds that turn pink after 13 days of leaving the factory. Ford reds are generally pretty good, the mk3 escorts are pretty good still. Plus Ford give a decent paint warranty against this, VX is only 1 year iirc.
