Loss Of Power Poor Starting, Ford Focus 1.8Tdci 53

Featured Replies

Hi i have ford focus 53 plate 1.8 tdci. When i start it in the morning it turns over then cuts off quickly. It takes 3-4 goes before it starts an idles. Ive put brand new glow plugs in and the light does not stay on long enough. Once it starts it starts 1st time all day until the dreaded morning.

Also ive noticed its sluggish in 5th gear. There is no smoke or noise. Turbo seems fine, ive changed the fuel leak off pipes and serviced it and checked for air leaks, does anyone have any ideas?

Also does anyone know what diagnostic reader to buy for this model, i bought an OBD II reader which says unable to read.
