Creaking

Featured Replies

Started to notice creaking when handbrake is on, coming from rear of the car/ rear wheels. Can't remember it on my old car , worth getting checked out by Ford?

I've noticed this in mine sometimes (when getting in and out) but is normally resolved by pulling the handbrake on a bit harder :D. My old car did creak a bit though not as much, maybe this is just a trait of disc brakes?

Cheers for reply. Yeah exactly the same getting in or out when the weight of the car changes. It's going in for 1500 check and new door sill Friday so may mention it to them for a quick check. The handbrake is strong in mine doesn't slip at all and don't have it very high either.

I noticed mine creaked when I got in when it was parked on a steep driveway, hopefully nothing to worry about.

Is that a check they do when the car has done 1500 miles? I wasn't told about that, I'm just over 1000 now. Is that something I should ask the dealer about?

Not all dealers offer it Phil, I only take mine back for peace of mind/ adjustments after the car has initially bedded in, for example I'm gonna get to the check the boost pipe clamps as I feel the car isn't as quick on boost as it first was, its a known fault with the ST's. Might be worth checking with your dealer? :)

Yeah I'll ask them, its going in tomorrow anyway.

Hand brake is just plain !Removed! on the ST. I've adjusted time and time again and still needs to be yanked through the roof to stop it falling down a 2 degree incline.

bit off topic but anyone ever had your boost pipe and the clamps checked on your st? Im noticing a drop in power atm and almost a bit of lag on the turbo in the last 50 miles. Not changed fuel or anything different. Getting a bit worried now

Can you hear the recirc valve on boost?

Haven't checked Matt, will do on the way to work with the windows down, for some reason it isn't pulling properly or doesn't seem to be anymore, 6th gear has no real 'punch' to it . Only really noticed today while driving to and from work.
