Hi there,

After driving various cars over the years, my last being a Mk2 Mondeo Zetec S which i had for over 6 years, ive just bought a new Fiesta Titanium 1.0 Ecoboost :)

Its my 1st new car and im over the moon with it, what a great motor!!

Anyway, been looking for a good place to get advice if i needed it and this looks like the right place.

My name is Bob and i live in Bristol.

Welcome bristol bob

Hi welcome :)

Welcome to the family Bob!

Out of curiosity what took you from the mondeo to the Fiesta?

I personally couldnt see myself going "down the ladder" in respect of car size I suppose, so I am always curious as to thoughts.

Hi, although the Mondy was the best car ive ever owned, it was always too big for my needs.

i spend 95% of the time commuting short distances on my own.

i like the look and spec of the new Fiesta and it should suit me better.

couple that to zero road tax and a 3 yr warranty, everything should be cheap and trouble free :)

Welcome!

Thats fair enough Bob! to be honest the mondeo is a very big car, so I can see why its a pain for commuting, but as you say, good spec, no road tax and warranty - it definately makes the jump worth while!

Do you find the Fiesta's interior build quality better, on par, or less than the Mondeo?

To be honest, the switchgear and fittings are standard Ford parts, so are a pretty good quality.

The only thing i do find a bit disappointing is the quality of the main plastics. Dash, console , door panels.

My mrs has an 09 Ka and thats exactly the same.

all seems a bit cheap and flimsy. It may be at the lower end of the Ford range, but VW dont make that mistake with the Polo.

That tends to be the general consensus I have heard on people who do say the same thing about the likes of the Fiesta and KA. I do hope that ford pick the quality up, as you say VW can manage it and Ford really should!
