Focus Diesel Had A Puff Of White Smoke

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I was driving home tonight at 70mph, when a strange blast of white smoke came out. Ive checked the water and oil and they look ok. Does anyone have a clue why this happened? Its a 1.8tddi 2000 with 132000 mls.

Thanks

So white smoke from the bonnet? Are you sure it was smoke not steam? Did you pop the bonnet and check the source of the outburst?

From the exhaust, ive checked the water level and oil condition and it looks ok.

white smoke is normally water being burned off, if its coming from the engine bay you might need a new exhaust gasket. Its possible that there is water ingress which is what you are seeing burning off?
