3 Button Keyfob

I have a 06 focus with a 3 button keyfob. I am thinking of getting a blank as mine is worn and battery is on its way out. I know obv. ill need to get the blade cut, but how simple is it to swap over the transponder?? Im guessing it won't need re-programming? Any advice would be great thanks.

    Never done it myself but I think I've read on here somewhere that it is pretty simple to change over.

    I'm not sure if you can swap the actual key over aswel? Might be worth looking into as it will save you a few quid if you can.

    The glass transponder chip slides out of a rubber sleeve.

    You have to be gentle with it though.

    As the transponder is passive it won't lose it's programming.

    All you'd need to programme on the new key is the rcl settings.

    Just ended up replacing the battery but now my remote central locking wont work. Tried a couple of variations to program the key again, but when holding the lock button in order to program the key, no bleep will occur and hence keyfob still doesnt work. Help!
