laumk7
Hello, at the weekend I was on my way to work when I got stuck behind mr 20 in a 30 zone, I moved to safely overtake him, but he sped up as soon as I started the manoeuvre, I carried on overtaking and he slowed down again but I think I caught half the speed camera gatso zone on the other side of the road. I'm fairly certain the camera didn't flash me, but this particular one is one of the dull flashes so I can't be 100% Would it have nabbed me? Hyrule
You'll know in 14 days or less, thats how long the police/authorities have to send you a NIP.
mixmasterlooney
What did your speedo show? Sent from my GT-N7105 using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
if its a single carriageway and you were overtaking in the gatso zone, I dont believe it will have caught you, they use radar pointing both directions and it uses these two points to identify your speed. I should think you are ok.
laumk7
I hope I'm going to be ok, as you say I'll know for 100% either way within 14 days btw is that inc weekends or 14 working days? Speedo showed about 36mph but I only caught the tail end of the gatso zone
jeebowhite
fingers crossed you are fine! but 36 with 10% of 30 you probably would have been flashed going the other way but I dont think you will have an issue. Gatso cannot monitor contraflow traffic, it can only monitor traffic moving in the direction it is facing as far as I know.
MattDRX
Gatso can only work in one direction, if they flash you going head on you will not be in the picture and they are not calibrated correctly, they need to be calibrated for High to Low Freq or Low to High, not both. but surely you'll both be in the picture anyway if he sped up. Most of the time they aren't set to catch you at more than 30 anyway, generally it's around 35 or so 40ish on the speedo, luckily for me all the ones nearby have been blocked off by overgrown hedges and trees, the owners remarkably aren't trimming them.
Italiot
If the car is registered to you you can only get done if you get nip in 14 days But if it's a company or lease car registered to a company they have six months to issue you the ticket Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
ben1191
If its one of these, they cant prosecute you if its flashed you from the front.Fact
