Fiesta Mk7 1.4 Tdci Extreme Vibration During Acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi there

Im new to the forum and i dont know if this topic should be here.

If not please move it and let me know.

I have a 59reg fiesta mk7 1.4tdci wich i bought in april 2013 second hand.

The car has done now 90k miles and i have a serioud vibration problem. Every time i hit the throtle between 50 and 80mph the all front section of the car shakes massively.

I took it to ford theyve checked driveshafts and the all transmission section and said it was fine. The car runs fine ive had remap done last november and it was fine. Problems started last december and hsvent stopped since. Took the car to several mechanics all said everythings fine. Swapped wheels and tires. Problem persists. Steering rack as new. Shocks are fine. Everythings fine thats what everyone keeps telling me. Engine mounts are fine.

Does anyone might know what my be wrong sith the car?

Or if anyone got the same problem?

The vibration gets a lot more intense when im hill climbing. And its only between 50 to 80mph. Steering does not shake just the all front section of the car. You can actually see the dashboard shaking and you can hear noises like plastic stuff knocking into eachother due to the vibration.

If anyone knows anything please share with me.

Thank you very very much. :)

Lol

I swapped glow plugs about 3months ago.

But the car always started fine even at cold start.

Ive swapped fuel filter tires im using toyo t1r proxes wich are cheap but very very good plus air filter.

Got the remap done but never had any problems with it.

It really feels like its a mechanical problem like if somethings loose by the driveshafts or gearbox.

Clutch doesnt slip. No driveshaft noises. No broken tie rods or anything.

The all car as been checked and no one knows.

The engine seems fine.

Its like imagine your wheels are extremely out of balance so when that happens the vibration goes to the steering wheel. Now imagine that vibration but on the front section of the car and the steering wheel doesnt shake.

I think its a car from hell when it comes to vibration problems. :/

Hi @David_cabral,

Have you succeed to figure what the cause of the problem was?

My 1.4tdci has the same behavior and I cannot figure it out what the cause could be. Mine is stock. I've change the gearbox support, but the issue is still there, getting worse now in the cold weather.

Thank you,
Paul

Update from my side, in case anyone else has this kind of issue and cannot figure it out.

Vibrations were generated by the clutch which had extra wearing. The flywheel is a single-mass for the 2010 model, so all the job is made by the clutch disk and its springs. Because the flywheel is single-mass, no strange noise were present and the mechanic couldn't identify the issue.

Just replaced the clutch disk and the car was as new.
