It's average mpg over the miles you do until you reset it. So, if you do 500 miles without resetting, it will show you you're average mpg for those 500 miles.

do you mean resetting the mileage trip bit back to zero?

No he means resetting the MPG part of the trip computer. It will carry on averaging your MPG until you reset it.

ok i see , thanks guys , while im here has anyone got an alarm fitted to there car, i find if i press my key fob once to lock it just locks and i dont get a beep to confirm the alarm is active , but if i press it twice it locks and i get a double beep from the alarm and double beep when i unlock?

if i just press once it just locks is that how its meant to be?

cheers

I always do a double lock.

have you got an alarm also , does it make a sound when double pressing?

I don't have an alarm but if i press to lock twice it means that the car can't be opened from the inside as well as from the outside....(useful fac there....!!)

I double lock it. One lock is for the alarm and one lock is for the immobiliser. I can't remember a sound but with the first press of the button, the wing mirrors fold in and with the 2nd press, the wingmirrors, and indicator lights flash.

My indicators and wing mirrors fold in just with one press, how can i tell if it double locks? Can't see or hear anything different between one and two presses.

You should hear an extra click on the second press.

i suppose if you get an alarm fitted its how the bloke sets it up for you ?

on my car if i press once it just locks but if i press twice it locks and i also get a double beep from my alarm and i would also presume that it locks from the inside as well (deadlock)
