Hello all,

I'm Kieran and I live in mid devon. I don't currently drive a Ford ( I see you say), but my mother in law has a lovely Mk1 1984 B reg Ford Orion with low mileage (50k ish) that I believe has been in the family since new. It is a 1.6 injection Ghia 5 speed manual and is in rather good condtion for the year as it has always been garaged.

.... until a few days ago when some kind young chap in an 09 plate Vauxhall Corsa decided the rear of the Orion needed rearranging.

So I'm on the look out for parts. Namely I'm having problems finding a rear bumper for the car. Searched the local scrappers and looked on Ebay and searched on the interwebz for a bit with no luck (well, except for a scruffy looking bumper on Ebay). So I thought I'd ask you kind Ford owners if you knew if there are any good places to get parts for older Fords from.

Thanks in advice.

About me in particular, I live a couple of streets along from above said mother in law and I work for the NHS doing IT work. I drive a 1994 Mitsi FTO GPX MIVEC 5 speed manual and used to own a lovely 1993 Pug 205 1.9 GTi that had been converted to a 306 GTi6 engine with ITBs + fully remapped...... until some kind drunk lorry driver took offense to it and decided that driving a lorry whilst drunk down a dual carriageway the wrong way late at night would be the best way of getting rid of the old Pug.... and his plan worked.

In the past my family have had a number of Fords - my dad has a brand new old X reg XR3 and then got a brand new MK3 Escort a few years later.... something to do with 5 doors and him having kids.... he later got a Sierra XR4i ex-Police car which was rapid and now he has a 07 plate Focus diesel. My grandparents have also had Sierras too. Oh and my missus had a mark 1 Ford Ka she got shortly after we got together..... now deceased due to rust. And an ex flatmate had a mark 1 Mondeo for a while too.

So I'm no foreigner to Fords after having them around me all the time, just oddley I've never owned one myself. Sorry !

Hi welcome :)

Welcome to the family! and dont you just love those lovely Corsa drivers who think a boot is a great parking space :|

To be honest your best bet is to look online at breakers to get what you need, but sadly most accidents on the road are rear end shunts so it makes it more difficult to find some good parts.
