Complete And Utter Maniac!!

Featured Replies

Driving home from golf this evening along the A38, I spotted a Ford KA (old one and rather battered), joining from the slip road very quickly.

He tailgated the Audi A4 in front of me (my how the tables have turned) and undertook him with ease!! This was clearly a modified car because I was doing 71 lol and the Audi must have been doing about the same. The KA got back into the overtaking lane and tailgated a huge artic lorry FFS! He was so close that the lorry driver would not have seen him.

Later, the KA had pulled back in and dropped speed but I was a bit wary when overtaking. No problem though... at first!

I had driven on quite some way when he appeared and was about 4" off my bumper flashing his lights for me to move over. Once the sloth like transit van in front had moved over (approx 55 mph). I very steadily overtook the van in 5th gear and waited for the inevitable.

The KA dived into the inside lane to charge past me, so I could not resist flooring it in 5th. The result was a bit like when the Starship Enterprise enters warp speed and disappears from the screen lol. The KA became a speck in my mirror at 71mph naturally.

I backed off and exited the A38 down the slip road and into a very sharp left turn. The ST with ESP off loves this turn. The KA had appeared again and was right on my bumper at the turn. I flung the ST into the turn as I always do and could feel the car gripping and the seat bolsters holding me in.

The KA took the corner at the same speed with awful results. He was splatted to the drivers door window and the car went onto the wrong side of the road and nearly up the grass bank as well as facing the opposite verge. Yes this was amusing to see but just think if something had been coming. I cannot believe he wanted to take the corner at that speed in a car which is not made for it.

I was now in a 30 zone with housing and people walking the streets with one car in front of me when he appeared again. He tried to overtake about 50 yards from a mini roundabout!!! In a built up area!!

He then went a different direction thank god. It's all very well me having a bit of fun without being dangerous myself but rest assured that if I see that guy on the roads again, I would rather pull over and walk. UNBELIEVEABLE

On reflection this should be in general chat. Perhaps a mod can move the topic. Thanks

Shocking and his days are numbered. Plod will get him or he will kill himself first.

He won't. He'll kill some innocent poor sod!

Just as well the Ka driver wasn't in an ST, sounds like he would have wiped the floor with you.

There are some crazy people on the road,

Cleary hasnt been driving long neither when he trys to corner at speed, 13x6 wheels and standard suspension is no match for lateral G force on heavy corners.

id have done the same left him sitting

?

Not a question of wiping the floor, racing is out of the question on public roads. It was a bit of fun as there was a yawning gap between the cars performance wise. I certainly would not try to challenge a BMW M3 which would be just about the equivalent difference in performance of my ST over the KA.

Had the crazy fool been in a car of similar power, there would be no fun. I would have moved over and let him go. I once saw a guy doing similar things in his 'wipe the floor with anyone' EVO VIII. Eventually his car wiped the floor with the lamp post.

Having read through your story, it came across that you were quite chuffed that you had entered warp speed reducing the old battered Ka into a small speck in your mirror.

Which prompted me to reply with the “stick the Ka driver in an ST” comment, as entering warp speed (I call it wiping the floor) against a Ka is not worth mentioning, in fact it’s embarrassing.

You say racing is out of the question, you will be telling me next that you have have/are purchased/purchasing an ST to travel as quickly as possible up to and not beyond the speed limit and to max out in the corners (at the stated speed limit).

You mention it was a bit of fun because of the yawning gap between the battered old Ka, I guess if you’re not on the receiving end, then yes it is fun.

You then say you would not take on an M3, why? , because you would then become” the small spec “, where is the fun in that?.

And finally you wouldn’t have taken on Ka man in an ST because “there would be no fun”?

If you did this then there would be a chance of your own driving limitations being exposed.

So keep on looking out for Ka man and/or Saxo man as this is much more fun in “warp speed land”.

I had the same with a yellow peugot here in Holland 106 totaly crazy that guy and dangerous .

After 2 times i let him go IDIOT

Waste of a post above by DaveTheDog. Just random rambling

The Ka was clearly an idiot. Regardless of Dave's actions! In the grand scheme of things he has committed sins of dangerous driving, tailgaiting, driving without due care and attention - simple! plus any speeding tarrifs that may appear. The fact that he lost it on the bend and crossed the carriageway is absolutely astonishing. depending on the overall speed Dave hit, there is a difference still in the tally, lets say Dave got up to 90MPH, that is only 3 points and £100 fine, now look at the tarrif of mr KA, hes looking at prison, fine, waving adios to his license and the possibility that next time he will kill someone.

This guy is clearly an idiot, its a shame you dont have any dashcam as that would be evidence enough.

If you have his number plate, name and shame him.

I must admit, I rarely have fun these days, my car is driven for economy, but there are just the odd occassions where someone is asking for embarassment. Bearing in mind I have a 1.8 Mondy, on my way home yesterday I had two idiots. One a vauxhall (pfft, no surprise) and the other was a BMW Z3, on both occassions I was sat inside lane cruise on at the top limit (50MPH) and plodding along. They had more than enough space to overtake, but neither did (same road, different times). So, at the next roundabout, we both proceeded straight, as he (both of them, both times) swung into the outside lane to go for an overtake as the road opened out to NSL I kicked the car to life. Needless to say, they were both disappointed when I didnt just plod along and they could wave goodbye. In fact I just kept pushing them. I was on the inside on an empty road accelerating heavily to the speed limit, and had them behind me the whole way. Stopping at 70, they careered off to 80+. The point is, sometimes these idiots need showing that just because you spend £20K+ on a car, doesnt mean that everyone on the road owes you, and you can be beaten by a driver with lesser spec but who knows their car well enough to give you a run for your money!

Most of the time, I just play these idiots, my favourite game is when I am in the outside lane overtaking and they start to try for an undertake (as we are accelerating towards the speed limit) so I hit the limit first and stay there, they seem to get very upset when the car behind me does the same thing, and they get stuck on the inside lane behind a granny at 40! :D

It just goes to show, some people need reminding that the road isnt theirs to do what they want with!

I dont race on the roads, but I will happily play "how's your 0-Speed Limit" on an open road, traffic free, and within what I consider to be strict safe thinking. if I can see from where I am to where I know I will be doing the speed limit, its empty and safe, then I will remind these people that I owe them nothing. If all else fails, they might think I am a fool because I dared to challenge them, or perhaps they feel shame / wounded pride because well - there £25k motor just got shown up by a Mondy!

Plenty of ramblings on this forum, revert back to the first entry in this thread.

now now guys, we're all entitled to a ramble and an opinion :)

The first post wasn't rambling and to be fair neither was Dave's. I'm at work so I don't have time at the moment to discredit it. Not sure it's worth the effort either. Unless anyone really wants me too. Perhaps better to just move on now

I like doing this too - there's a road on my way home from work where it goes from 30 limit to to 60, and I often end up with someone tailgating me wondering why I'm sticking to the speed limit. So just before the limit changes I drop into third, then the moment I see the sign for national speed limit I floor it, hit 60 in a few seconds and then look in my mirror to see the little spec :). Would be more fun if someone is able / tries to keep up but it hasn't happened yet.

Happens to often, these pratts kill someone else rather than doing the gene pool a favour and offing themselves.

Also not worth putting your life at risk because of someone like this, irrespective of whether your car can handle the speed, would have just let him pass. Rather him infront of me, than be worrying about what he can potentially do behind me.

Wouldnt have bothered flooring it just eggs the pratts on, I leave them to find a ditch or a lampost on there own they usually do and theres less chance of them taking you out aswell

Sort of person that if I came round a corner and saw his car in flames I'd continue to drive to the nearest shop, buy a pack of marshmallows (I don't even like them), long cocktail sticks and a bunch of cigars (I don't smoke).. return to (hopefully) the flaming inferno, toast my marshmallows and smoke my stogies...

Dont forget the alcohol!

I would personally just throw a bit more on their and fuel the fire :D
