quickclear windscreen

Featured Replies

If your quickclear windscreen gets a stone chip and needs repairing, say with autoglass will it still work? or if you need a full replacement is it still like for like with only your excess to pay?

Autoglass replaced mine in my old Ka - it was no different from any other stone chip. So long as they fit a heated screen (which they did) it'll still work. Excesses were no different.

it should still work with a stone chip. i got a stone chip repaired on my last car and the heated front windscreen still worked.

Whenever my dad got a stone chip on his old Focus Zetec-S heated windscreen he got a new one. Think it only cost him his excess, or he had windscreen cover... I don't recall him ranting much about it so it can't have been too bad  lol

No need for even that nowadays--Autoglass will fill it with gunk and it's as good as new or so they say on the telly anyway! :)

Most of the stone chips my Dad got were pretty bad and started to crack so he had no choice but to, unfortunately! He does alot of motorway miles and clearly has bad luck lol He had to have a full respray on his new Civic's bonnet when it was 3 months old because a stone came off the back of a lorry and skimmed the whole bonnet right down to the metal. Poor Daddy!

Makes you think " why are we buying a new car". As long as the quickclear still works with stone chips thats OK.
