Hi all I'm Ben from Chesterfield. After running around in a 320D E46 for few years I've decided I want a brand new car with some cheap motoring and after hours of research I settled upon the sporty looking Zetec S Ecoboost 125ps. I've got my order in and will be expecting delivery late September, I've gone for Panther Black with the red/charcoal seats and kept the standard 16's. I've not even test driven one, have a made a mistake? :oops:

    Hi Ben, I like you was driving 320D (M Sport), for several years and decided as it was nearly 7 yrs old to go for nearly new fiesta ecoboost 125 ,titanium in Panther black. Mine has grey leather heated seats and all the gadgets you can think of as it was a demonstrator; I am sure you will be very impressed as this engine is amazing,being very nippy and economical; my best consumption so far was 63mpg. Keyless entry is great if you have it also.Happy motoring Les.

    Les what was the power difference like between the 320 and the ecoboost? My BMW is the 150bhp version.

    Welcome to the family Ben!

    The power difference you may find is minimal, after running the old BM for years, you will have grown accustomed to it and as it ages and naturally loses a few horses, you will probably find there is little difference in terms of behaviour. Also if you wanted to give it a bit more of a kick, you can always remap it and get the most out of it.

    Hopefully so because I drove one of the 1.2 TSI Ibiza FR and it was so slow in comparison to the Beemer. They're 105hp and 170nm so not quite as pacy as the Ecoboost.

    yeah, when it comes to 70 odd horses you will feel it, but less than that can be negligible. The power to weight ratio is higher on the Fiesta, so you probably wont feel any different.

    Theres nothing stopping you calling a few dealers and asking them to let you take one for a run, then you can pre-empt how it will be :D
