Engine oil?

Featured Replies

What engine oil does the Fiesta Mk7 use? Is it synthetic or mineral and how often should I check to ensure it's topped up?

lol, all I know is that it's near the front and has a dipstick.

If it's at MIN then you'd best top up quick! With this mysterious 5 30 semi stuff... It just sounds like something uncomfortable in the early hours of the morning!

I hate oil dipsticks with a passion i swear i cant read them right, never sure if im low or filled right up, the mark between full and empty is so small, then its a game of guessing how much to top up with arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

anyone got a handy tip, and not just clean the dipstick, do it when the engine is cold and on a level surface

As for when it needs topping up, I will rely on the little light on the dashboard and regular servicing for mine but then I am not very technically minded when it comes to cars.

I had a Peugeot 406 a few years back and when it broke down on the motoroway and the AA guy asked me to 'pop the bonnet' I had no idea where the release was - and I had had the car for over 3 years at the time!

Its refreshing to know that a man can be a woman driver too!

I've not looked in the engine since I bought it about 4 weeks ago. I hope that its still shiny!

Michelle, you don't need to look in the engine. That is the man's job and you are very lucky to have one of them ;)

Oh no Max is totally useless at things like this ive always checked the oil and tyre pressures, I am a very independant person, think its because I was on my own for a few years as a single mum before I met him, he gets away with it because he knows what I am like!!!
