Hi people , just joined today , hope I may be able to contribute now and again , have had Fords for a number of years last two cars were Focus hatchbacks , bought new in 2000 (x reg ) exchanged in 2010 for 57 plate , as you can imagine they have been very reliable hence the time period . use to repair my cars myself up to 2000 but found a great mobile mechanic ( Honest and very good value )

which is quite unusual these days , if it helps any body just changed my tyres for the first time on my present Focus 205/55/16 after a search on-line got a very good set of Goodyear Efficentgrip Performance off Asda fitted by Halfords for £70 each , that's a good saving compared to most outlets. :)

Hi welcome :)

Welcome to the family Alf! did you say you got tyres from Asda?

Yes it sounds crazy only noticed on there web site the word tyres , I thought at first it was for pedal cycles , but when I clicked on found it was for cars , Good price compared to most outlets , just drove to Chester 90 mile round trip mostly Motorway my old Bridgestones gave me 40mpg , today I got 50mpg at 70mph plus the stopping was excellent . I've got 3 trips to Wembley to watch the NFL this year plus a couple to see my son in Berkshire all 400 mile round trips on mainly Motorways so hopefully might get a few pound back in fuel economy .

Might have to keep an eye on it!

Welcome to the forums. Great find for the tyres in Asda of all places. Wish we had Asda here in Ireland :)

Thank you , I also found a similar price for the Goodyear's which I bought on a Tyre site called Meyer's , Like Asda they give you a selection of places to go to in your area to get them fitted as an all in one price , may be worth checking out they may cover Ireland :)

Cool. Thanks for the recommendation and will keep it in mind the next time I need tyres. Going to google for that place now and save the website :)
